Terms of use

Last updated October 11, 2026

These terms govern your use of jurisprudata.co (the "site"), operated by Jurisprudata, LLC ("Jurisprudata", "we", "us"). Please read them with our privacy policy.

Acceptance

By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. If you use the site on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these terms for it.

The site and everything on it are provided for general information. Nothing on the site is legal advice, and nothing on it should be relied on as a substitute for advice from a qualified lawyer about your circumstances. Using the site, or contacting us through it, does not create an attorney-client relationship with Jurisprudata or with any person associated with it. Please do not send confidential or privileged information until a formal engagement, if any, has been agreed in writing.

Showcases

The showcases on the site, including PatentTalk and Patent Universe and Islamic Law Through the Ages, are demonstrations of work in progress. They are not complete or fully verified products. Their data, results, maps, dates and descriptions may be incomplete, approximate or wrong, and they may change or be withdrawn at any time. Do not rely on them for legal, academic, commercial or other decisions without checking the underlying sources yourself.

Using the site

You may browse the site and share links to it. You agree not to:

  • use the site in a way that breaks the law or infringes anyone's rights;
  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site, its servers or related systems;
  • interfere with the site's operation, including by introducing malicious code or placing an unreasonable load on it;
  • scrape, copy or harvest the site's content or data by automated means, except as permitted for ordinary search engine indexing; or
  • use the contact form to send spam, unlawful content or material you do not have the right to share.

Intellectual property

The site, including its design, text, graphics, logos, software and the way its content is selected and arranged, belongs to Jurisprudata or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. The Jurisprudata name and logo are our marks. You may not use them, or copy, modify or redistribute the site's content, without our written permission, except as the law allows.

Third-party content and links

Some showcase material draws on third-party sources, which remain subject to their own licenses and are credited where we use them. The site may also link to websites we do not control. We are not responsible for their content, availability or practices, and a link is not an endorsement.

Messages you send

When you contact us, you confirm that what you send is accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you have the right to share it. We handle the personal information in your message as described in our privacy policy. Unless we agree otherwise in writing, we have no obligation to keep ideas or suggestions you send confidential, and we may use them without compensation.

Disclaimers

The site is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise that the site will be uninterrupted, secure or free of errors.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Jurisprudata and its members, officers, employees and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill or business, arising from or related to your use of the site or reliance on its content. Our total liability for any claim related to the site will not exceed one hundred US dollars (US$100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Jurisprudata and its members, officers, employees and contractors from claims, losses and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your misuse of the site or your breach of these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland and by applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict of laws rules. Any dispute arising from these terms or the site will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Maryland, and you consent to their jurisdiction, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time by posting a new version on this page and changing the date at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
